About The Position

The Laborer supports field crews in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, including fiber optic cable, conduit, and aerial or underground systems. This entry-level position assists with site preparation, material handling, and general construction tasks to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Previous construction or outdoor labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • CDL a plus (or willingness to obtain).

Nice To Haves

  • Telecom, fiber optic, or utility construction experience.
  • Experience working around underground utilities.
  • Familiarity with hand digging and trenching.
  • Experience setting up traffic control.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of fiber optic cable, conduit, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Perform general labor duties including digging, trenching, backfilling, and site restoration.
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely.
  • Assist directional drill, aerial, or underground crews as needed.
  • Set up traffic control devices and maintain a safe work zone.
  • Perform cleanup of job sites and ensure proper restoration.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety guidelines at all times.
  • Support crew leads and supervisors with daily tasks and production goals.
