Laborer - Traveling - Telecom
About The Position
IMMEDIATE NEED - HIRING NOW - MAJOR PROJECTS DIVISION TRAVEL POSITION - Robinson Brothers Construction, LLC is seeking skilled Telecom/Underground Utilities Laborer to join our traveling crew. Our contracts span the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, encompassing the western states. We are looking for talented individuals who are enthusiastic and ready to travel to various job sites. As part of your role, travel is expected and required. This is a field position, and you will be responsible for working at various sites as necessary, including locations in multiple states. Travel position - We prioritize local assignments that enable our team to return home each night, while remaining flexible and ready to pursue opportunities wherever the job market takes us. The Construction Laborer will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. Duties will include but not limited to general labor duties related to telecommunications construction as directed by the Forman or Supervisor. Services may include placing poles, anchors and guys, aerial strand and cable, direct buried pipe, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems, performing inside wiring, cabling, and testing and maintenance services.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and Motor Vehicle Report.
- Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position.
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 tickets in the last 5 years)
- Successful completion of Quanta/RBC Safety compliance training and onboarding
- Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner.
- Basic knowledge of and ability to hand tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in the underground utilities industry
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
- TRAVEL IS REQUIRED
Nice To Haves
- Class A CDL is a PLUS (Higher wage scales apply to CDL holders).
Responsibilities
- Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.
- Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools.
- Install and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling.
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
- Working in congested or remote areas.
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
- Perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor.
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies.
- Learn all aspects of crew and assist the operator and foreman as assigned.
- Setup, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites.
- Develop an understanding of buried utilities.
