About The Position
The Laborer position in the Public Works & Engineering Department, specifically within the Streets and Right of Way Division, is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt role. The laborer will work under the direction of the Streets & Right of Way Superintendent and the Deputy Director of Engineering & Public Works, and at times the Crew Leader. The primary responsibilities include maintaining and repairing asphalt and concrete surfaces, cleaning road ditches and sidewalks, and performing right-of-way maintenance. The laborer will also be involved in snow and ice removal during winter months and may perform tasks requiring some skills in carpentry, masonry, and pipe laying. The position does not require a CDL and is not eligible to operate dump trucks or snowplow spreader trucks.
