About The Position

Loenbro is looking for an initiative-taking individuals willing to work hard and grow in the position located in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will work with the supervision of a skilled craftsman. Most of your responsibilities will revolve around performing manual work such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical tasks, and other forms of trade.

Requirements

  • Working Knowledge of industrial tools and equipment
  • Ability to read and follow basic drawing or instructions
  • Able to lift 40lbs and work in varied environments (outdoors, heights)
  • Valid OSHA 10 (Preferred)
  • Driving if required to travel.
  • Able to pass preliminary and periodic drug testing.
  • Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
  • Limited working surfaces.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
  • Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Ability to work from ladders and scaffolds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with operating heavy machinery (forklifts and man lifts).
  • Skilled in math which includes adding and subtracting fractions.
  • Comfortable climbing and working at elevations above 25 ft.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with layout, installation, and assembly of mechanical and structural components
  • Perform rigging and signalman duties for lifts under supervision
  • Operate power tools, grinders, drills, impact guns, saws, and torches safely
  • Support pipe fabrication, alignment, and bolt up activities.
  • Perform basic cutting, grinding, cleaning, and prep work for welder and fitters
  • Handle material movement using pallet jacks, dollies, or forklift if certified.
  • Maintain site housekeeping, barricades, and safety set ups in work areas.
  • Assist with erection of platforms, scaffold, and supports as needed.
  • Follow foreman’s directions, safety plans, and JHA/AHA procedures daily.
  • Report unsafe conditions or equipment to supervision immediately.
