Laborer I
About The Position
The City of Thibodaux is accepting online applications for the full-time classified position of Laborer I. Applications will be taken until, Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 12:00 (noon). The purpose of the Laborer I position is to perform maintenance functions throughout the city. This is accomplished by picking up trash; mowing and weed eating grass; cleaning drains and basins; maintaining the pump stations and civic center employees; and repairing city streets and property. Other duties include maintaining landscaping equipment; cleaning bathrooms, windows and floors; cutting trees; spraying for weeds; picking up after special events; and completing other tasks as assigned. The purpose of this position is to maintain the cleanliness, appearance and infrastructure of the City. This position is in Grade 611 of the pay plan. The minimum pay amount is $13.91 per hour. The practical test will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.at the Recreation Building , at Peltier Park. Peltier Park is located at 151 Peltier Park Drive, Thibodaux, LA, 70301.
