About the position

The position involves picking up range balls from the driving range using mechanized equipment and by hand. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining an adequate supply of golf balls in the appropriate size range baskets for distribution to patrons, which includes retrieval, washing, and loading dispensing machines. Additionally, the role requires performing various laboring duties to support the successful operation of the facility, such as cleaning golf course equipment, ensuring equipment is fueled and aligned, and maintaining the cleanliness of power and pull carts. Other responsibilities include cutting cups, relocating tee markers, hand raking sand traps, filling and repairing ball washers, and collecting trash. The position also involves loading and unloading boxes, filling holes with dirt, and using hand tools for various maintenance tasks throughout the facility. The incumbent may also be required to water the course using common garden hoses and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up range balls from the driving range using mechanized equipment and by hand.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of golf balls in appropriate size range baskets for distribution.
  • Retrieve, wash, and load dispensing machines with golf balls.
  • Clean golf course equipment such as mowers and utility vehicles.
  • Ensure equipment is fueled, aligned, and properly stored.
  • Wash and clean power and pull carts, fueling them when applicable.
  • Cut cups, relocate tee markers, and hand rake sand traps.
  • Fill and repair ball washers and replace tee towels.
  • Collect trash and empty garbage and ash cans.
  • Load and unload boxes and cartons, stacking them as needed.
  • Fill holes with dirt and level bumps using a shovel, hand tamper, and rake.
  • Run hand lawnmowers and powered lawn mowers when appropriate.
  • Clear trees and bushes using handsaws, hatchets, or clippers.
  • Use string trimmers for weed and grass trimming projects.
  • Water the course using common garden hoses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Shift work may be required to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals must have resided in the U.S. Territory for three or more consecutive years preceding Federal affiliation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Practical knowledge of golf activities and equipment is desired but not required.
  • Ability to use, control, and clean common hand tools and simple power equipment.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
