About The Position

The General Concrete Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the preparation, pouring, and finishing of concrete. This role involves working alongside skilled tradespeople to ensure that concrete work is completed accurately and efficiently, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in concrete work or general construction is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools used in concrete work.
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., OSHA) are a plus but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of concrete forms, including measuring, cutting, and setting up wooden or metal forms.
• Prepare and secure reinforcement materials such as rebar or wire mesh.
• Clean and maintain equipment and tools used in concrete work.
• Mix concrete and other materials as required, following specified ratios and techniques.
• Pour concrete into forms, ensuring even distribution and proper alignment.
• Use hand and power tools to finish surfaces, including smoothing, leveling, and texturing.
• Remove and clean forms once the concrete has set.
• Prepare work sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and ensuring safety measures are in place.
• Perform general labor tasks such as digging, shoveling, and hauling materials.
• Clean up job sites, disposing of waste materials, and organizing tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
