About The Position

Join our union-signatory construction team, supporting large-scale industrial and civil projects. We seek experienced and safety‑focused Construction Laborers, Carpenters, and Operators to perform key tasks aligned with their trade scope, under the collective bargaining agreement. These positions require travel to job sites across MN, WI, ND, SD, IA, CO, and MI. Applicants must be willing and able to travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Physically fit; able to lift 94 lbs or more; climb heights; use PPE; safe work habits.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to comply with union agreements required.
  • On‑the‑job training acceptable; familiarity with PFAS systems.
  • 5+ years' experience; proficiency in reading blueprints; personal toolset; high school diploma.
  • Valid equipment certifications; 5–10 years’ experience; medical fitness.
  • Carpenters: Requires 5+ years’ carpentry experience, proficiency in layout, and personal tools. High school diploma and union signatory compliance.
  • Operators: Must hold valid certifications for equipment operated; 5–10 years’ heavy civil construction experience; medical fitness exam required.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean worksite.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments (climbing, lifting, stooping, walking, heights up to 100′, confined spaces).
  • Operate basic hand and power tools; assist other craft personnel.
  • Arrive promptly and remain focused on safety—report hazards and use PPE correctly (hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel‑toe boots).
  • Must pass background check, and pre‑hire and random drug testing.
  • Assist carpenters, operators, welders, fabricators, etc.
  • Clean, sweep, remove debris; erect and dismantle scaffolding and temporary structures.
  • Load, unload, identify, and distribute materials; operate shovels, rakes, jackhammers, mixers, torches, and small hoists.
  • Use PFAS and fall‑protection systems.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble lumber, plywood, and formwork for concrete.
  • Set and remove forms; erect scaffolding; perform finishing work.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, and form drawings; ensure plumb, true grade, and structure integrity.
  • Estimate materials; organize tasks solo or with crew; use fall‑protection and PFAS.
  • Operate heavy equipment (cranes, hoists, and other machinery) safely and efficiently.
  • Plan and execute lifts; read capacity charts; use rigging and conduct daily inspections.
  • React to alarms, coordinate travel of loads, respond to hand/voice signals.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment; adhere to operator manual.
