About The Position
A-Lert Construction Services, a division of Centurion Industries, Inc., is seeking dedicated Laborers to join our team in Decatur, IL. This position involves performing various physical labor tasks for industrial projects, which may include working in diverse processing industries such as corn and oilseeds, food, meat, chemical, energy cogeneration, biofuels, and wood pulp/paper/fiber products. As a Laborer, you will be responsible for operating a variety of hand and power tools, ensuring that work is conducted efficiently while maintaining a safety-first mentality. It is crucial to keep the work area and job site clean and orderly to prevent injuries and other safety-related incidents. You will be expected to communicate effectively with the Foreman, Site Superintendent, and other team members on the job site, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. The role requires following specific directions and performing a variety of duties that may change frequently. You will need to work within standards of accuracy and repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures. Physical demands include standing or walking for long periods, using arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects, and lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 100 pounds. Additionally, you will be required to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment. Other physical activities include stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and maintaining visual acuity, either naturally or with correction. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, physical exam, and other assessments as applicable. Attendance is critical, and you must be available when scheduled for work, using your time effectively and productively.
