Requirements

Previous veterinary lab experience required
CVT certification (or eligibility) preferred, but not required
Fluent English (written and spoken) required
Rabies vaccination preferred
Demonstrated commitment to the profession (e.g., continuing education, conference attendance, professional memberships)
Ability to attend mandatory monthly staff meetings
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Ability to sit, stand, kneel, reach, grasp, hear, and see throughout your shift

Responsibilities

Responsible for processing all in-house and send-out laboratory tests including:
Process all IDEXX reference laboratory requests
Accurately process all in-house lab tests: CBC/Chemistry PCV/TS SNAP Test Urinalysis Leptospirosis test I-Stat Blood Typing Crossmatch Manual Differential Cytology (ear) Etc.
Accurately process all ancillary lab tests to outside labs: Michigan State University Colorado State University Etc.
Ensure all sample submittal paperwork is completed accurately
Ensure all samples are packaged appropriately
Ensure proper samples (serum, plasma, etc.) are included for each requisition
Ensure all charges are invoiced appropriately and under the correct provider
Maintain lab supplies, ordering supplies as needed through IDEXX (tubes, culturettes, etc)
Process quality control
