Routine Testers are responsible for conducting “routine” laboratory tests on intermediate and finished liquid hydrocarbon products directly and indirectly produced by crude oil and biofeedstock refining operations. Routine testers will be expected to gain an understanding and become proficient at using many types of lab testing equipment and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, PC software controlled devices, “stand alone” equipment, and some “manually” conducted tests. All test results will be entered into a computer database. This position requires a strict adherence to safety procedures, good observation skills, and the ability to communicate both written and orally. Routine Testers will be required to wear the proper personal protective equipment and are required to be walking/standing while conducting tests for 8 - 12 hours a day. Entry level positions require working 12 hour “night shifts”, 7 days in a row, followed by 7 days off and then repeating that schedule for 12 hour “day shifts”. Routine Testers report directly to the Lab Lead, Senior Chemist, and Quality Control manager.
