Position Scope Under the direction of the Lead Laboratory Technologist or the Technical Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting experiments, performing tests, and providing results, analysis and reporting. The Laboratory Technologist is also responsible for maintaining the laboratory, equipment, and inventory as well as safely handling, storing, and disposing of samples, chemicals, and other materials. This position is considered to be a safety-sensitive position. The Laboratory Technologist role encompasses three levels of seniority based on skillset and experience with Magnum’s various service lines. Specific definitions on the levels are as follows: Laboratory Technologist 1 The Laboratory Technologist 1 position is an entry-level position into the role. Laboratory Technologist 1’s are able to competently and successfully complete the job requirements as specified below. This role is required to participate in an on-call rotation, work a rotational schedule, and support the satellite laboratories. Laboratory Technologist 2 The Laboratory Technologist 2 position is an intermediate position awarded to Laboratory Technologists who have a proven track record of level 1 tasks, as well as independently completing Soil Stabilization service line testing and reporting, in addition to completing all tests in the Laboratory SPOs and interpreting the results. This role will act as a mentor to Laboratory Technologist 1’s. This role is required to participate in an on-call rotation, work a rotational schedule, and support the satellite laboratories. Laboratory Technologist 3 The Laboratory Technologist 3 position is a senior, specialized position awarded to Laboratory Technologists who have a proven track record of competently and successfully performing all level 1 and level 2 tasks for the Oilfield Cementing, Fluid Services, and Soil Stabilization service lines. This role will act as a mentor to Laboratory Technologist 1 and 2’s. This role is required to participate in an on-call rotation.
