Here you'll have an opportunity to work as a technologist in the Special Hematology and Coagulation Laboratory. This laboratory provides testing by automated and manual methods for the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of hematological conditions including various anemias, hemoglobinopathies, leukemia, and bleeding and clotting disorders. All testing is moderate to high complexity such as coagulation factor assays, platelet function studies, and hemoglobin variant detection. This is a day shift position including alternate weekends and rotating holidays. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights. Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent curriculum)
  • Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York State Education Department

Nice To Haves

  • One to three years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting in Special Coagulation and or Special Hematology or Hematology is strongly preferred, though new graduates are welcomed to apply.
  • ASCP certification
