About The Position

ECS Limited is offering a unique opportunity for a talented Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Soils Laboratory Technician to join our Sarasota team. We provide paid training and cover certification fees, making this an excellent entry-level position. No prior experience is needed, as you'll work under the guidance of experienced professionals to learn to safely perform a variety of tasks in our concrete and soils laboratories. As your experience grows, ECS will support you in enhancing your professional skills and encourage participation in training programs and certification opportunities.

Requirements

• No experience required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for soils.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must have valid driver's license and insurance.
• Willing to obtain knowledge of CMT laboratory equipment, testing methods, and ASTM laboratory standards.
• Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific tasks associated with conducting laboratory testing on construction materials for various projects under supervision.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests using various methodologies and testing equipment following industry standards and compliance.
• Assist with tasks to maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) initiatives.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests for soils including Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content testing, unconfined compressive strength testing, and standard and modified proctor testing.
• Perform calculations and data reduction based on test results; document results accurately; may perform administrative duties as requested.
