As a Lab Technician, you’ll perform biological and chemical analyses, support formulation development, and contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. How You’ll Make an Impact: Assist in development of formulations for a variety of applications Responsible for all steps of routine experimentation including sample prep, equipment orientation, instrument control, data processing, and analysis Conduct product performance and field testing Approve, hold, and/or reject products based on laboratory analysis versus specifications Ensure compliance to current regulatory requirements, following GMP guidelines for data reporting, and preparation of validation protocols, raw data generation, and final reports Conduct reexamination of borderline results, research technical literature, and communicate opportunities for process improvements Multi-task between many projects to ensure the various completion deadlines are met Recommend testing parameters, complete experiments and project work as assigned Provide analytical and technical support for quality related product investigations Complete data reviews for out-of-specification test results issuing SPC charts of historical results Optimize and recommend lab improvements to support 5S initiatives Other duties as assigned Position Details: Plant Location: Garland, TX Work Week & Shift: Night shift, Monday to Friday; 9:30pm - 5:30am May require overtime depending on business needs What’s Unique About This Role: The support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives and ideas to achieve our best Be part of a company that values a culture of safety that includes top-notch safety training and personal protective equipment Performs limited and repetitive laboratory operations (in a laboratory or plant) with direct daily supervision. Duties usually consist of making measurements, performing several routine quantitative and qualitative tests according to standard procedures. Assists higher level technicians in setup of laboratory equipment and in recording data for experiments and procedures. Assists in writing experimental reports, summaries, protocols and appropriate documentation in lab notebook. Perform routine and safety program checks and preventive maintenance on instruments. The incumbent implements the Quality System at a plant location by performing tests on raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods, documenting quality results, advising on batch adjustments, conducting audits, and training associates. Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or relevant science discipline
  • 2 years laboratory or quality control experience in related industry
  • PC computer skills in Excel, Word, and Access
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in scientific skills and lab analysis
  • HPLC, FTIR, Viscometer Instruments, Auto titration, or other instrument training
  • Experience with troubleshooting problems with test methods and lab equipment as they arise
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of basic statistical principles
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
