As a Lab Technician, you’ll work directly with pilot-scale chemical systems—building, operating, and troubleshooting the kinds of processes that drive major innovations in the chemical and petroleum industries. Job Summary Support the construction, operation, and maintenance of chemical processing systems and pilot-scale equipment.

  • Maintaining a clean work environment
  • Managing parts and equipment inventories
  • Preparing requisitions for preventive maintenance
  • Assisting in assembling and operating chemical pilot plant systems involving pipe and tubing connections, AC/DC-powered instruments, and related equipment
  • Providing operational support for complex small-scale chemical and petroleum processes
  • Maintaining equipment and vehicles
  • Installing or removing insulation
  • Delivering materials
  • Assisting with welding, cutting, wiring, and interpreting drawings
  • Recording operational data in logbooks
  • Communicating updates to other shifts
  • Performing analytical testing using a gas chromatograph
  • Overseeing chemical and equipment inventory control
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Practical experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficient with a variety of hand and power tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency, including Excel and Word
  • Ability to work rotating 24/7 shifts
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience working with chemicals or chemical processes (e.g., distillation) preferred
