About The Position

The laboratory of Joseph Longo, Ph.D. in the Department of Immunology is currently seeking to hire a Laboratory Technician. The Longo Lab studies how metabolism and nutritional programming regulate anti-tumor immunity and tumor progression, with the goal of identifying actionable metabolic strategies to treat cancer. The ideal candidate will be a curious, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced research environment and works well with other lab members and collaborators. The candidate will contribute to ongoing research in the lab and be responsible for lab management, including updating and maintaining IACUC protocols, ordering lab supplies, and coordinating safety and regulatory standards. The starting annual salary range for this position is $40,413 - $51,716 and this can include full comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field; or
  • Associate’s degree in a science-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time laboratory experience; or
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time laboratory experience.
  • NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

  • Experience generating, analyzing, and presenting data for publications and/or grant applications
  • Prior experience working with mouse models of disease would be an asset
