The Abel Lab is hiring a full-time Laboratory Technician within the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. This person would perform a variety of laboratory duties in a cancer research laboratory focused on transcription factors and gene expression. Tissue culture, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, as well as Western blotting and bacterial culture techniques would be the primary laboratory duties. Additionally, working with mice (tumor implantation/excision, drug treatment, health monitoring, euthanasia) will be required. This individual would also aid in the maintenance of the laboratory, assisting with placing orders and maintaining laboratory materials and equipment. This individual will also be responsible for conducting grant-funded research projects and must have high-level critical thinking skills and be able to independently drive a project with minimal-to-moderate oversight.
