The Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in performing analyses and reporting data on various LNG process samples and final products. This position is essential for continuously improving the Quality Management System by adhering to LRTA standards and various policies and procedures, while also meeting the needs of both internal and external customers and stakeholders. The role requires working twelve-hour shifts, both day and night, at the Hackberry, LA facility. A valid Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) is mandatory, and employees must reside within a one-hour drive from the plant to ensure quick response times during emergencies. In this position, the technician must maintain a safety-first mindset, strictly adhering to safety procedures and policies without deviation. Responsibilities include utilizing the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample management and data entry, ensuring compliance with the Laboratory Quality Management System, and performing routine testing with a focus on accuracy and quality control. The technician is expected to recognize atypical test results and resolve any issues related to instrumentation or methodology independently. The role also involves maintaining proper waste protocols, troubleshooting laboratory equipment, and performing preventive maintenance. The technician will manage inventory, communicate with purchasing personnel for timely delivery of materials, and ensure compliance with safety and training requirements. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for training personnel from other levels and may perform other duties as assigned. This position requires a high level of analytical and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple samples and methods.
