SUMMARY: Set up and perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures on customer products. Interface with customers and vendors. Maintain laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of test equipment
  • Knowledge of proper laboratory techniques and protocols
  • Ability to transcribe results accurately into reports
  • Have excellent communication skills and be able to work with and communicate with vendors and customers
  • Associate Degree in electrical/electronic or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Laboratory safety training
  • 2 years related experience
  • Computer literacy required including Microsoft Office and SAP applications

Responsibilities

  • Set up laboratory equipment and conduct testing on customer products under an engineer’s supervision
  • Responsible for maintaining the Calibration Database and scheduling calibrations as required
  • Must log customer samples in and out and maintain the test sample log sheet
  • Responsible for receiving and shipping of equipment and customer products
  • Be capable of operating the TUV forklift
  • Assist the engineering staff in lab related duties
  • Perform daily and periodic verifications of test equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and minor repairs to instrumentation.
  • Assist in identifying, developing and implementing process improvements. Initiate recommendations for new equipment
  • Demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with laboratory and company policies
  • Perform routine housekeeping including cleaning of equipment and lab areas. Maintain, store and properly dispose of materials as needed
