About The Position

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Intern Laboratory Technician to join our Advanced Materials Coatings Lab in Willowbrook, IL. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while contributing to meaningful projects alongside an experienced team.

Our ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working onsite. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate school commitments, with 20–30 hours per week onsite at our Willowbrook lab.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and enrolled in college course.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Willowbrook, IL.
• Computer knowledge that may include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, perform chemical laboratory tasks of some complexity and variety.
• Perform or assist more experienced staff in completing complex laboratory assignments.
• Perform sample preparation/extraction/digestion and analysis of environmental samples according to established procedures.
• Operate standard experimental testing equipment of moderate complexity and perform routine equipment maintenance. Adhere to QA/QC requirements in the performance of job duties.
• Receives packages and keeps accurate counts on equipment and consumable items.
• Decontaminates and maintains equipment to be used in the field for sampling projects.
• Observe experiments, record experimental data and prepares report.
• Perform lab waste accumulation activities to support compliance with the waste management plan for the facility.
• Perform computer data entry and record management activities.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
