The Hardlines Intern title is for individuals currently enrolled at a college or university, working either part-time during the school year or full-time during school breaks. The intern will learn the C&P Hardlines testing process and become capable of understanding standards, regulations, and client-specific requirements for testing toys, juvenile products, furniture, cookware, and other children’s products.

Requirements

  • Strong written and spoken English skills
  • Persuasive, diplomatic, but always to the point
  • Hands-on, open-minded, proactive team player
  • Must have mechanical aptitude
  • Computer literacy (creating, filing, saving/uploading, searching, backup, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Ability to establish effective working and team relationships with internal and external staff
  • Self-managed and responsible to project and time management
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 1+ year of university experience in the science/engineering field
  • English - Intermediate level
  • Mathematical Skills: Intermediate level
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Intermediate level
  • Highly organized
  • Strong logical thinking/skills
  • Intend to major in Mechanical Engineering or Physics
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word) - Intermediate user proficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Automation expertise such as PLC programming desirable

Responsibilities

  • Learns the C&P Hardlines testing process.
  • Capable of understanding standards and regulations and client specific requirements that are implemented in testing of toys, juvenile products, furniture, cookware and other children’s products.
