Chenega Government Mission Solutions, LLC, a Chenega Professional Services’ company, is looking for a Laboratory Technician III in support of the Lawton Indian Hospital to provide laboratory services in all areas of the laboratory. The laboratory is fully operational 24/7 including holidays. This is a full-time position. Hours will not exceed 40 hours per-week. Shifts are scheduled on Saturday/Sunday (12-hour shifts) and Monday/Tuesday (8-hour shifts). Requirements

  • ASCP or AMT certification required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years Clinical laboratory experience to include blood bank.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standardized and non-standardized clinical laboratory tests in the sections of hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and the reference laboratory. This involves following the procedure s and processes as described in the manuals.
  • Performs Daily Start up and shutdown procedures on the instruments/analyzers. Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on the same instruments and maintains accurate and orderly documentation log records, worksheets and other laboratory records where required according to established department protocol and credentialing agencies.
  • Performs quality control and critical assessment of quality control results on all instruments in the laboratory. Initiates investigative action when quality control is unacceptable and corrects observed variances.
  • Troubleshoots unusual or unexpected patient results, repeating patient testing as required and follows the procedure for reporting critical results.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the RPMS lab package and the reference laboratory interface as needed.
  • Draw blood on all age groups.
  • Provide clerical support and demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers, telephones, copier, shredder and fax machine.
  • Participate in the proficiency testing program and accreditation compliance.
  • Support and promote the facility and IHS vision and mission objectives.
  • Participate in all required HIPAA and employee mandatory trainings and in-service.
  • Maintain the laboratory as a safe environment, free of hazards.
  • Perform special assignments as requested to fulfill objectives of the department or facility.
  • Other duties as assigned.
