About The Position
The hired person will be one of three virologists providing high quality, and timely diagnostic services for the Virology Section within the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory. The activity is essential to supporting the health of companion animals, livestock, and wildlife in the state and region. Functions include but are not limited to the following: perform advanced virology diagnostic tests and services and report to appropriate stakeholders, maintaining laboratory equipment, and training/supervising student employees. The position is available at the technician II and III levels. The search process will identify a candidate that fits best with either the II or III level positions. Distinctions in responsibilities between these levels is outlined below.
