University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient centered Laboratory Technician II (36-40 hours per week) to work in our Sioux City Clinic. This position will have a supportive laboratory focus, providing phlebotomy support as well as point of care testing. For over 100 years, Iowa Healthcare’s primary focus has been the health and wellness of our patients, providing care for pregnancy, baby wellness, vaccinations, school and athletic physicals, acute visits, annual check-ups, mental health, on-site laboratory services, and more. The team builds relationships with patients, monitors their care history, and delivers personalized, compassionate care. When specialty care is needed, family medicine providers connect patients with appropriate UI Health Care specialists, ensuring a seamless experience by sharing medical records. Under general supervision, the Laboratory Technician II performs phlebotomy and a variety of difficult venipuncture procedures, difficult technical procedures, and other associated responsibilities in the clinical laboratory, while maintaining laboratory area and equipment.
