Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is searching for a Laboratory Technician II in Tustin, CA. The Sample Preparation Laboratory Technician II is responsible for utilizing general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, to weigh, digest and prepare soil and water samples for GC and GCMS analysis.

  • Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on required due dates and holding times.
  • Retrieve samples from sample storage for preparation.
  • Weigh and measure sample aliquots for preparation.
  • Document required sample preparation details and observations.
  • Prepare reagents and standards for daily use.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment in accordance with the laboratory quality assurance program.
  • Represent the department in an informed and professional manner during internal and external audit events.
  • Perform daily duties while adhering to the environmental health and safety policies.
  • Wash and prepare laboratory glassware as needed.
  • Perform general housekeeping within the laboratory to maintain an organized and safe working environment.
  • Actively communicate with department manager, analytical team and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, holding time etc.
  • Assist other areas of the laboratory as needed.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a production laboratory setting, required.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Effective time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
