Employees provide direct support in a variety of areas: mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, analytical chemistry, mineralogy, process economics, mining and geology.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of math, chemistry and/or computer skills appropriate to the assignment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and/or testing.
  • Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24/7, 365-day operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience (6 months +) in mineralogical or testing laboratory
  • Familiarity with digestion and leaching test
  • High School diploma, GED or AA Degree
  • Experience with mathematic and/or numbers based tasks
  • Experience with chemical sample preparation and/or laboratory analytical equipment
  • Ability to follow detailed, technical instructions
  • Experience with tedious or repetitive motions or tasks
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Strong proficiency using MS Excel to develop and maintain spreadsheets reports, and other documentation

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
  • May collect samples which could include collection from rail cars or trucks in some locations
  • Prepare samples for analysis using established tests and techniques.
  • Assists with/performs routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting.
  • Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Perform other duties as required
