As a Technician I - Sample Receiving in our Richmond, VA lab, you will be a key member of the Montrose team, passionate about the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the soil that feeds us. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications preferred.
  • Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass screen drug testing.
  • Proficient in computers and database software.
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety.
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written).
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Well organized and have an attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift sample containers, such as coolers, up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Enthalpy’s SOPs.
  • Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
  • Labels sample containers and stores them in appropriate locations.
  • Contacts the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
  • Completes inventory and orders inventory as needed.
  • Manages production of bottle preparation and shipments.
  • Assists in sample bottle preparation.
  • Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal.
  • Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed.
  • Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency.
  • Complies with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program.
  • Complies with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
