About The Position

Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is searching for a Laboratory Technician I in Tustin, CA. The Sample Preparation Laboratory Technician I is responsible for utilizing general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, to weigh, digest and prepare soil and water samples for trace metal analysis. With over 50 laboratories and more than 40 service centers nationwide, Eurofins Environment Testing provides full-service environmental analysis across all 50 states, supporting public and private clients through robust logistics and continuous investment in people, technology, and infrastructure. They offer comprehensive testing for air, water, soil, sediment, tissue, and waste, covering a wide range of analytes including PFAS, metals, VOCs/SVOCs, dioxins/furans, radiochemicals, and more.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • High school Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on required due dates and holding times.
  • Retrieve samples from sample storage for digestion and preparation.
  • Weigh and measure sample aliquots for digestion and preparation
  • Document required sample preparation details and observations
  • Prepare reagents and standards for daily use
  • Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with the laboratory quality assurance program
  • Perform daily duties while adhering to the environmental health and safety policies
  • Wash laboratory glassware as needed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Actively communication with department manager, analytical team and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, holding time etc.
  • Assist other areas of the laboratory as needed
