The Laboratory Technician I (LT I) position is responsible for the collection, receipt and distribution of specimens within the laboratory. The LT I uses the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for positive patient identification in the collection, receipt, distribution of specimens. This position may perform and report laboratory testing if assigned. This position responds to internal and external customer questions/concerns in a pleasant, efficient and cooperative manner.   • Specimen handling and distribution
  • Use of Information Systems
  • Specimen collection (phlebotomy and SWCL) in accordance with CMH policies and procedures, as applicable
  • Customer service to internal and external customers in accordance with CMH shared values and service excellence programs
  • Performance of waived to moderate complexity testing and reporting; and/or specimen processing and preparation under appropriate supervision, following in-depth training and competency assessment procedures (as assigned)
  • Maintains general operations of the Laboratory and performs quality assurance activities
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
  • 1-2 years of related phlebotomy or lab experience or education training in phlebotomy preferred, but not required
