About the role: The Center for Biological Innovation (CBI) is a BSC Center of Excellence that utilizes in vitro and ex vivo approaches, such as biochemical, cell-based, microbial, and tissue-based assays to support the design, development and commercialization of BSC products. The successful Laboratory Technician candidate should have appropriate scientific experience to provide the technical support required for supporting in vitro biomedical research studies. Work Mode: At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at five days per week. Relocation: Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time. VISA: Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.

Requirements

  • 3 Years with Associate with Biology degree/diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with BSL‑2 laboratory operations and handling of blood-derived materials
  • Hands-on experience in cell biology techniques, e.g. hemocompatibility testing (highly desirable), microscopy, immunostaining, flow cytometry, and/or cell culture
  • Ability to quickly learn new techniques and adapt in a changing environment
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and on an individual basis
  • Results and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to developing and/or optimizing new in vitro (cell, blood and tissue) models
  • Following experimental protocols and executing test methods both independently and with guidance from senior team members
  • Maintaining detailed and accurate records
  • Assisting with preparation of data for reporting and presentation
  • Assisting with equipment maintenance, cleaning and inventory management
