About The Position

This is a full time, salaried position at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista with PM and night shifts based on business need. Weekends as needed. The Lab Supervisor will work a combination of bench days and administrative days. PM shift bench days start at 1430. Night shift bench days start at 2230. Admin days can be flexible to start at 1430 or later to ensure an adequate overlap with night shift. Must overlap with night shift daily and meet with night shift team at least weekly. The Laboratory Supervisor will be joining a knowledgeable team of skilled, dedicated and caring professionals at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista overseeing the PM and night shift teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree
5 Years experience in lab services with at least 1.5 years as a clinical lab scientist.
CLS certification

Responsibilities

Oversee staff of 20-25 employees on the PM and night shifts
Responsible for oversight of the activities and functions of a department.
Provides functional expertise to staff and leadership.
Ensures effective use of system resources.
Participates in standards of practice and process improvement activities.
Participates in hiring, oversees daily productivity, and creates staffing schedule.
Ensures policy and procedures are followed by staff.
Bench coverage as needed
