Spend 10 weeks working inside one of our high-volume, hospital-based clinical labs — gaining real experience, learning from expert Medical Laboratory Scientists, and building a foundation for a future career with UPMC. 🧪About the Lab Internship Program UPMC’s 10-week Lab Internship Program gives students the chance to put classroom learning into action inside a real hospital laboratory environment. This is a full-time, paid, hands-on experience in which you’ll: Work side-by-side with experienced clinical laboratory professionals Get exposure to state-of-the-art testing environments Build confidence in performing lab procedures, workflows, and instrumentation Experience high-volume, fast-paced lab operations that support real patient care Learn the daily routines and expectations of a future medical lab professional Grow your skills, your resume, and your network within UPMC If you’re considering a future as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLT, or any clinical lab career — this internship gives you the experience and insight you need to take the next step. 🏥 Where You’ll Be Working – Southwestern PA Locations (You’ll select your top 3 locations when you apply.) Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor of Science program at an accredited college/university
  • Majors accepted: biological, chemical, physical, or clinical laboratory science
  • Completion of at least two semesters in your degree program
  • Full-time availability is required with limited time off during the 10-week program
