Chemours is seeking a Laboratory Technician Intern to join our growing Corpus Christi​ team! This position is available at our Ingleside, TX location. The Corpus Christi Plant Laboratory Technician accomplishes, with a minimum of supervision, a wide variety of laboratory assignments. This position will shadow, learn and participate in daily laboratory activities with other qualified laboratory technicians. The Chemours Corpus Christi Laboratory Technician Internship opportunity is intended for students of the Del Mar Environmental/Petrochemical Laboratory Technology Program. Students will develop skills directly related to their curriculum and gain hands-on laboratory experience. The production laboratory at Chemours is a fast-paced, highly complex laboratory certified to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards. Interns will be required to review and follow all Chemours EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) and Laboratory Work Procedures. They will also be required to shadow a Chemours Mentor.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Environmental/Petrochemical Laboratory Technology program at DMC
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic wet chemistry analyses
  • Analyze samples using instrumentation such as GC, ICP, IC, TOC, IR, pH, ISE, KF, and more
  • General sample and instrument troubleshooting
  • Basic use and understanding of LIMS and chromatography software
  • Understand the Quality Management System
  • Understand general chemical and laboratory hazards
  • Manage gas 6 packs and laboratory waste
  • Complete a minimum of 128 hours of work
