  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electromechanical, fluidic, and vacuum systems.
  • Proficient in the use of a variety of hand tools and electronic test equipment for maintenance, repair, and assembly tasks.
  • Ability to provide technical mentoring and informal leadership to junior engineers or technicians.
  • Semiconductor industry experience or an understanding of Lam products is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate in an R&D environment, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, and calibrations on equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair coaters, cleaving tools, SEM, FIB, and TEM equipment, including mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and vacuum systems.
  • Ensure safe handling of hazardous gas and liquid materials while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including process development, hardware, and software engineering—on R&D activities, customer demonstrations, and equipment support.
  • Install and provide support for prototype equipment, including developing procedures and documentation.
  • Maintain alignment on priorities across tasks that range from dynamic to routine through clear and proactive communication.
  • Operate with limited supervision and own complex tool issues end to end.
  • Be recognized as a technical expert for one or more equipment platforms.
  • Maintain clear alignment on priorities across concurrent workstreams by proactively communicating equipment status, risks, and mitigation plans to engineering and lab leadership.
  • Contribute to lab productivity, cost, and cycle-time improvement initiatives by balancing urgent tool recovery with longer-term reliability and capability goals.
