About The Position

The Senior Manager directs and oversees the Laboratory operations of assigned specialties/ departments and has the responsibility and accountability for the effective fiscal management of the assigned laboratory operations to ensure prudent utilization of resources. Assist the Director in the development of the department budget according to the established guidelines, meeting all target deadlines, providing competent, highly engaged staff to meet patient and customer needs, and ensuring the quality of care and services provided by the Laboratory Department contributes to meeting the goals and mission of AdventHealth in each of the Five Extending Excellence Elements and the Hospital's Strategic Innovation Agenda. Promotes and actively participates in outstanding customer service for patients, physicians, and all other departments and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
  • 5 Work Experience Required
  • Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (SU) Required

Responsibilities

  • Scope of Responsibility: Competency in expected Leadership behaviors as outlined in AdventHealth Leadership Standards: Communicator, Organizer, Producer, Team Builder, Innovator, Staff Developer, and Model. Directs and oversees the day-to-day operation of Clinical Laboratory at the respective campus in assigned specialties Strives for excellence and continuous process improvement as evidenced by top quartile performance across all AdventHealths Elements of Excellence.
  • Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility: Provides an environment that is conducive for the implementation of all regulatory rules and laws, and AdventHealths Corporate Compliance Plan. Follows and enforces adherence of staff to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies; protects confidentiality of patient information and results at all times.
  • Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility: Prepares and executes an operating budget that ensures appropriate staffing, professional development, space, supplies, and equipment, necessary for improving and maintaining the quality of services.
  • Strategic Planning Responsibility: Develops and implements campus laboratory goals and processes that align with the campus strategies while still supporting hospital initiatives.
  • Performance Improvement Responsibility: Participates in process and performance improvement and assists in the development of action plans to improve patient care and essential processes. Actively participates in decision-making committees, both at the campus and corporate levels, whose activities result in performance improvements. Supports processes necessary for the successful operation of the clinical laboratory including appropriate interactions with customers of various ages and backgrounds. Embraces and seeks out continual learning and improvement of self as well as employee in the department.
