This position would assist the chemists, microbiologists, sample receiving and Quality Assurance groups within the laboratory and training would be provided.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in science. Chemistry or biology preferred.
  • Prefers a high-volume environmental laboratory learning environment.
  • Has an interest in learning about different methods, procedures, and techniques that go into analyzing drinking water and wastewater.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing glassware and sample bottles for all sections of the laboratory following specific protocols
  • Assisting laboratory staff as needed with filing of sample reports, log-in of samples, sorting of samples, packing, and unpacking coolers
  • Cleaning sample bottles/vials and operating dishwasher as needed
  • Verifying sample pH and turbidity
  • Replenishing instrument water reservoirs as needed
  • Preparing buffer solutions
