About The Position

Averhealth is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Screening Technician I to service our state-of-the-art Laboratory in St. Louis, MO. This position is Full-Time working 40+ hours per week with overtime eligibility. Physical and Sensory Requirements: Mobility, walking, climbing, sitting, standing, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 lbs), carrying, pushing, pulling, fine eye-hand coordination, ability to read, write, listen and speak clearly, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to drive a vehicle and travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to use computer, monitor, cell phone, mouse and keyboard extensively as well as other general office equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to pass a color blind test, accommodations made if not
  • Skill in the use of computers, especially applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • BS Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science OR Associates Degree
  • (1) year of experience in a Lab environment, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares specimen (urine) for analysis by receiving, opening, and pipetting in accordance with our standard operation procedures
  • Prepares excess specimen samples for storage
  • Enters sample information into the software database
  • Disposes of samples after the analysis is complete
  • Sends supplies to Averhealth sites as needed
  • Maintains cleanliness of accessioning work areas
