This position is in the Department of Immunology and Microbiology in Dr. Jenna Guthmiller’s lab. This position will utilize molecular, biochemical, genetic, immunological, and in vitro approaches to study humoral immunity . This research position will involve handling primary human tissues, maintaining the laboratory biobank, maintaining the animal colony, and performing experiments on animals. This research position will involve laboratory-based studies on primary human cells and influenza viruses, with work performed at biosafety level 2. A successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing the Guthmiller biobank, participate in research projects, and help maintain the operation of the laboratory. The candidate should have exceptional organization skills. The employee will be working closely with the lab manager and will assist a postdoctoral fellow in experimental work. Rarely, experimental protocols will require working in the evening or on weekends.
