Laboratory Research Associate- Walter Reed in Silver Spring, MD- ONSITE ICON plc is a world-leading healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization. We’re proud to foster an inclusive environment driving innovation and excellence, and we welcome you to join us on our mission to shape the future of clinical development ICON is currently seeking a Laboratory Research Associate II to join a diverse and growing team in the Brain Trauma Neuroprotection Branch (BTN) at at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). . The Research Associate II will perform a variety of routine and specialized administrative and animal research functions in support of Principal and Associate Investigators and Administrative Officer within the Brain Trauma and branch. Duties include, but not limited to: Lab assistance, data collection, procurement of supplies/equipment, and maintain experimental records. Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data using instruments Experimental methods to include but not limited to rodent and large animal TBI models, behavior and physiological testing, histology, neuroimaging, as well as cellular and molecular biology in order to support development of promising therapeutic strategies. Perform quantitative analytical assessments of changes in molecular and cellular mediators underlying responses to stressors, injury, and countermeasures to these disruptions. Histopathological, biomedical, and molecular techniques such as immunohistochemistry, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), western blot, arrays, bioenergetic profiling, genomic extractions, and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Maintain a laboratory inventory of chemical reagents and surgical supplies, communicate with equipment suppliers and other vendors regarding price quotes, product specifications, and other support. Requirements

  • Must obtain required occupational physical examinations and NACI to conduct work in department laboratories.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience, or, in lieu of degree, 5 years of highly relevant experience.
