Under the direction of the Administrative Director of the Clinical Laboratory Services and the Director of Transfusion Medicine, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance, inclusive of the Allen Hospital campus, with all departmental QA/QC, quality assurance programs, as well as Federal, State, and other regulatory agency requirements. Assures that all laboratory and clinical procedures are fully and accurately described in section policy and procedure manuals, through periodic review of manuals and comparison with procedures/policies as they are being actually performed. Responsible for maintaining the electronic Document Control Systems, Blood Bank Information Systems and instruments. This is a full-time day shift position. Location is our Columbia campus in Upper Manhattan/Washington Heights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Meets all requirement of the New York State Department of Health for a Laboratory Supervisor
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
  • Minimum of five (5) years senior staff experience in Transfusion Medicine, including regulatory aspects of practice
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and experience with QA/QC Programs
  • Knowledge of Blood Bank Laboratory Information Systems and Access Databases
  • all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
  • NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.

Nice To Haves

  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Specialist in Blood Banking (S.B.B.) Certification
  • Master's Degree in a related field
