The successful candidate will contribute significantly to Point of Care Current Product Support for the R&D Benchtop Solutions. They may also contribute to other aspects of POC Assay Development, including verification and validation studies for regulatory submittals and Current Product Support projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology, Biochemistry or Biology and/or relevant medical laboratory experience.
  • Experience working with plasma, serum, and whole blood.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team environment are essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word are required.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and data analysis.
  • Strong lab skills including wet chemistry and mechanical aptitude commensurate with required education and work experience.
  • Problem solving requiring original thinking and deductive reasoning.
  • Adherence to GLP, GDP and safety standards.
  • The candidate must be willing to work in a biohazardous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot a variety of blood gas instruments.
  • Participate in test method development and validation by simultaneously executing several test protocols.
  • Identify and take appropriate steps to assist in resolving semi-complex problems.
  • Investigate unexpected or unusual results and effectively communicate findings.
  • Prepares lab solutions and alters specimen samples in accordance to work instructions
  • Assist in laboratory support functions such as chemical inventory, laboratory inventory, data extraction, authoring/revising local procedures/work instructions and receiving of materials.
  • Coordinate with colleagues for the local metrology program.
  • Identify and drive continual laboratory improvements.
  • Participate in CAPA activities such as investigational testing, root cause determinations, and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Adhere to and promote quality, compliance and safety standards in the laboratory.
