About The Position

The Lead Phlebotomist coordinates processes of the Laboratory Phlebotomists II, Phlebotomists IV and Lab Clerks. Responsible for obtaining blood, urine and culture specimens from patients ranging from newborn to geriatric, according to established procedures of Marian Regional Medical Center and State and Federal Regulations. Performs clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a license technologist. ensure proper communication throughout the laboratory.

Requirements

  • - 3 years’ experience as a Certified Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant.
  • - State of California Phlebotomy Certificate.
  • - Excellent organization, communication and team building skills.
  • - Demonstrates leadership and basic management skills.
  • - Remain calm and effective in high pressure and emergency situations.
  • - Understanding of medical laboratory terminology and Microsoft Computer Skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic management courses are highly desirable.
