HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Phlebotomist PRN to join our healthcare team. This role involves efficiently and safely obtaining appropriate blood samples from patients for laboratory procedures and proper processing of these samples.   • Properly collect and process specimens for in-house and reference laboratory testing.
  • Maintain strict safety and infection control techniques at all times.
  • Identify patients and their personal information by reviewing their identity documents.
  • Analyze blood specimens using correct testing equipment, when necessary.
  • Prepare specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients.
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment used in the drawing and testing of blood specimens.
  • Order laboratory supplies, as needed.
  • Practice, develop, and endorse customer service skills in relationships with internal and external customers.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Annual BLS required.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of phlebotomy training program.
