About The Position

Responsible for performing venipuncture, fingerstick and heel stick procedures on patients in the laboratory or in the provider's office. The phlebotomist will also help out with office procedures and fill in for the lab receptionist during breaks and absences.

Requirements

• Graduated from High School or completed GED requirements
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Medical/Phlebotomy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect blood and urine specimens from patients
• Assist in reception duties and office procedures as necessary
• Maintain supplies in phlebotomy area
• Direct reference work to proper outside laboratories
• Instruct patients on proper specimen collection techniques
• Perform related work as required
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Attend OSHA training upon initial employee orientation and annually
