Requirements
- Master’s degree, Anatomic Pathology or equivalent education/experience.
- Familiarity with Anatomic Pathology procedures, techniques, and instrumentation, experience including grossing surgical specimens.
- 3+ years’ experience at a hospital laboratory performing technical duties relating to anatomic pathology.
Nice To Haves
- ASCP or equivalent certification as a Pathology Assistant.
- Familiarity with the Epic Lab information system.
Responsibilities
- The Pathology Assistant functions as a professional who assumes responsibility for assisting the Pathologist with autopsies, performing or assisting in accessioning, dissection, grossing, evisceration, description, and histologic sampling of a full range of surgical specimens under the general supervision of a Pathologist
