Job Summary Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in performing chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Essential Functions Purchases or directs purchase of laboratory equipment and supplies. Assigns workers to duties and oversees performance of tests in fields of microbiology, chemistry, histology, hematology, immunohematology, and serology. Reviews test results to ensure quality control. Coordinates and conducts education and training programs for medical technology students and personnel. Assures that all laboratory services are operated within strict State and Federal requirements and standards Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company's Code of Business Conduct, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards. Promotes adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations Knowledge of the theory and application of laboratory methods and instrumentation used. Considerable knowledge of management and administrative functions, laboratory operational systems, and professional and accreditation standards. Ability to establish, manage, and evaluate the operation of a complex laboratory in a teaching, research, clinical, service or regulatory area. Ability to direct and coordinate the efforts of laboratory personnel; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, clinicians, faculty, and students; to develop, evaluate and administer laboratory objectives, policies and procedures. Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protected. Approximate percent of time required to travel: Pay Range: $49.50-$62.78/hr. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field. Licenses/Certifications Clinical Laboratory Scientist License as required by state.
