The incumbent provides administrative, supervisory, research, and scientific support to the Laboratory Manager II in the operation and management of the Forensic Chemistry Unit. The Laboratory Manager I may assign, oversee, and review analytical chemistry work conducted by forensic chemists regarding both controlled substance and fire debris evidence. The Lab Manager I ensures all work is completed according to accreditation standards and applicable laws. Assigns, oversees and reviews analytical work conducted by staff. Ensures all work is completed according to various state and federal laws, rules and regulations. Prepares activity and/or statistical reports.
