As a Laboratory Intern based in the Orange, CA Laboratory, you will gain hands-on experience, collaborating with a team of committed professionals and contributing to meaningful scientific work. This role offers the opportunity to grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment, focusing on sample preparation and handling, recordkeeping, and developing essential lab instincts. You will support the delivery of accurate, on-time results while learning industry standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Currently enrolled in a local University
  • Basic laboratory techniques (knowledge of PPE, use of balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc)
  • Basic Excel skills required
  • Must have ability to follow directions and work in a team setting
  • Must be comfortable working with strong acids and solvents
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an intern position

Responsibilities

  • Preparing samples for digestion or extraction as needed (includes but is not limited to: weighing soils, making composites, crushing samples, incremental sampling, product sampling, etc)
  • Washing glassware
  • Preparing reagents as needed
  • Conducting simple water quality assays
  • Data entry
  • Perform support tasks as needed
  • Comply with Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director
