Collects, receives, stores, and disposes of drinking water, wastewater, environmental and industrial waste samples, and logs samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Prepares and dispenses chemical solutions and reagents appropriate for field instrument calibrations and sample collection according to the standards of The National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) Institute. Calibrates, operates, maintains, and cleans field and laboratory equipment; complies with Laboratory and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety policies. Inputs and maintains accurate data records within LIMS. Maintains inventory; creates and modifies SOPs and Chain of Custody (COC) documents. Assists with analytical functions in the General Chemistry Laboratory as needed and participates in a cross-training program. Maintains proper documentation; calibrates testing instruments; follows mandated FDEP sampling procedures and reporting requirements, and ensures accurate sample result entries in LIMS.
